If you're an adult, sure can! You might be aware that you need to work on one skill in particular that doesn't suit addressing in a more general group session, or perhaps you just prefer to learn by yourself instead of in a group. Talk to us about creating a session just for you!
If you have a child that you want to book a session for, unfortunately we can't offer one on one lessons with anyone under 18yo due to Child Safe guidelines. One option is to invite a sibling or friend or two to join the session.
How fun! Sometimes getting together and learning with a couple of mates is the best thing you can do - especially if you already ride together regularly. Going through the sessions together makes it easier to remember what you've learned and you can keep helping each other progress and give each other feedback long after the sessions have ended.
Maximum group size is 4 participants.
If this is a one on one lesson, that shouldn't be a problem to reschedule depending on availability.
If you have signed up as a participant in an event involving a group, unfortunately we can't reschedule the group sessions and they will proceed as planned without you. However if you decide to cancel more than 7 days out, we will refund you the total minus a $10 admin fee.
After completing the introductions, a safety check and a warm up, we'll start out by giving you a brief description of the skill you're going to be learning. We'll talk about what you're going to do and why. We'll give you a demonstration and then it's your turn! We will also start off in a safe neutral environment for you to practice new skills.
While you're having a go, we will provide you with encouragement and feedback to shape your skills. Sometimes we will record video of you attempting the skill and play it back to you so you can visualise what you might need to adjust.
We will gradually add in features to your practice runs, such as lines on the ground or small sticks to help you practice timing and prepare you for what you might find on a trail.
Once we're happy that you are demonstrating the skill in a consistent and controlled manner in an easy environment, it's time to put your new skill to the test out in the real world - on Forrest's trail network!
We prefer to reschedule if possible, however in group sessions this is not always possible.
If you need to cancel your place in a group session and it's more than 7 days out, we will give you a full refund minus $10 admin fee.
If it's less than 7 days out, we can issue you a credit for a future class.
We will proceed with a session in the vast majority of weather conditions so come dressed appropriately with layers that you can adjust if the weather changes.
If the temperature is predicted to be above 32 degrees during the session, the session may need to be rescheduled.
If there are high winds, the session may need to be rescheduled. This is due to the risk of trees or branches falling.
If the bushfire rating is Extreme, the session may need to be rescheduled. If the rating is Catastrophic, the session definitely will be rescheduled.
No, you don't but it could be worth considering it if you would like some insurance cover while riding recreationally or in events.
